Molly McNew

FORMula Fitness Instructor

Meet Coach Molly!

Hi! My name is Coach Molly McNew and I am so happy that you are here!

My husband, Matt, and I founded FORMula Fitness in 2015 with the hope of spreading our passion for health and fitness to our local community. We started small….in our garage! Our idea was simple: provide people with the personal feel of 1 on 1 training, but do it in a small group setting. Over time, we outgrew our small garage gym and moved to our current location. We still focus on creating relationships with every member of our gym community. We want FORMula Fitness to be our members’ second home and the place where they are lifted up and encouraged to be their best selves.

My fitness career started as a child in gymnastics and cheerleading. In college, I turned to the weight room to fulfill my inner athlete…and that’s where I fell in love with fitness. After getting a degree in psychology, I began to focus on family and career. I still spent time working out, but you know the story…life got busy. In my late 20s, my first son, Ben, was born and I gained a whopping 65 pounds! Keep in mind, I am a hair shy of 5’0” tall! This was the first time in my life that I had a weight loss challenge staring me in the face. I learned a lot…and had my share of struggles. But I got back in the gym and followed my nutrition plan…and the weight eventually came off. After my second son, Will, was born, I decided to take my fitness career to the next level and become a personal trainer. I wanted to help empower other women to take control of their health and wellness as I had learned to do. And it has been the most amazing journey! I get to live my passion every day and ignite a fire within my clients to be the absolute best that they can be!

I am now a competitive bodybuilder and am a nationally qualified NPC Women’s Physique competitor. In 2020, I took 1st place in Overall Women’s Physique at the Texas State Championships. In 2021, I took 2nd place in Women’s Physique Class A at Master’s Nationals and then 6th place in Women’s Physique Class A at North Americans.

In addition to working out and bodybuilding, I love spending time with our rescued pugs, Otis and Edna May, family, gardening, reading, scuba diving and traveling. Oh, and I am serious about my karaoke!

I want women of all ages to know that it’s never “too late” and it is ALWAYS worth it. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your health and fitness goals!
